Acoustic Sounds buys Classic Records

Just got this in an e-mail. It seems that Michael Hobson has sold the entire Classic Records operation to Chad Kassem of Acoustic Sounds. Chad has certainly come a long way. I can remember buying records from him in the mid 80s when he was going around buying up stock from bankrupt record stores and selling it out of his mothers garage. He has turned that business from a small home based operation to one of the premier suppliers (and producers) of audiophile software in the world. And through it all he has always remained a gentleman. I wish him all the best with this new venture.

Nice jazz catalog!
Thanks Tom
The Classic LP pressing of "Kind of Blue" is, IMO, a must own for any serious jazz fan with a turntable. (I understand that the out of print 4 sided 45RPM pressing is considerably better, but at this point one would need to hock their first born to put your hands on one.)

I got my copy in 1974, a few crackles here and there but still plays... I bet the Classic remaster is sweet! I like the bass intro of "So What" as bass test track - the detail and "air" in the bass is humongous.
