Very interesting. So we use cryo for metals with very good results. Is there any potential to use cryo for a chassis or other products to possibly reduce vibrations? Are there certain products that are attached to a frame or chassis like glass or plastics that cannot tolerate the cryo process?

Interesting indeed. I was not aware that Børresen did this to even their drivers. In fact, I wasn't aware that any company did this to drivers! :o

I wonder if the same process was performed on my entry level Scansonics that he also designed. Probably not.

This will video will give those folks over at audio s---- fits!

A couple of other pieces of evidence to back up the link.

1. I once conversed with a scientist in chitown and he actually saw molecular changes of cryod
metal via an electron microscope. This was decades ago.

2. When working with the Illinois dept of highways, it was well known that when building bridges,
the steel beams were pinged for a month or so to rid of mechanical stresses before assembly,
thus molecular changes had occurred, even without cooling the beams.

cheers and thanks for the link Dave.

I cryo guitar pickups.  Inductance, resistance and capacitance changes run from 2% - 8% .  The SQ of the pickups:  smoother, rounder with less HF screech (important for Telecaster bridge pups).
