Tru Dat. I played the title track for Eleazar this past weekend, you should have seen the face he made.  :wtf:

Pat Metheny / Ornette Coleman - Song X (one side only, there's just so much of this free jazz that I can take at one time, although the sound on this vinyl is great)

Yes, I didn't care to much for that one

But I did like what I heard from Stan Kenton

LP? From the shape of the pic it looked like Gene had gone back to playing 8-tracks.

George Benson: Guitar Man

Concord 180g LP

On this album Benson dumps the pop/disco flavor of many of his previous albums and returns to his roots of good ole guitar based jazz, a welcome change in my book. Musically a very nice album (although I have been partial to George Benson all the way back to his CTI albums , so take that for what it is worth.)

The 180g pressing form Concord is a bit on the noisy side with more clicks and pops that I am used to tolerating, but on the other side of the coin is is not being marketed nor priced as a super audiophile release. So in that light while it has more surface noise than I expect from a 180g release, it is not really any more than I would hear on a standard vinyl pressing (which is how it is priced.) Normal price is right around $18 and it can be had right now on Amazon for 12 and change.

That CD is one tough cookie on ones system. Better be up to snuff in the top end. Great music.

Tea for the Tillerman
Yusuf/Cat Stevens | Format: Vinyl

A $1 crackhouse copy, not a recent 200g release.

Sounds good after being steamed nontheless.
