They wouldn't be very practical under the current social distancing rules. The limit of 10 people in a gathering would have to include not only the customers, but all of the vendors and event staff as well.
As much as I love going to record stores and shows there is no way I would go near either one right now. Even if i could make sure that nobody got within six feet of me, who knows who touched or couched on the records or CDs before you got there.
I would say that musical social distancing means that we are pretty much limited to downloading files for the near future.
Or at the very least buying things online and shipping them media mail, so that the records are in transit long enough for any viruses that are on them die before the package gets to you.
Who knew that the post office's slowest service would turn out to be a strategic advantage?
