Sam Cardon and Kurt Bestor write some great music:

Here is a YouTube hit from ythe PBS Special "Innovators"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epAlsaJ_szE&list=PL606693A2FE485506&index=2

It is worth watching the special when you have some time...

La Capitana is another great piece - Dave Weckl on drums and an outstanding performance by Sam Cardon on guitar:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epAlsaJ_szE&list=PL606693A2FE485506&index=2

The original release of Innovators was on a Word Pefect distribution disc as an addition.

It is available as a CD now.  Interesting side note:  An engineer credited on the recording is a gentleman named Dave Wilson... yes THAT Dave Wilson.

Yes, the PBS special is very good, but the CD is stellar.  The CD has very little if any compression whereas the video is squashed flat.  The CD has been one of my reference discs since I acquired the Word Perfect disc in 1993

Backstory:  Word Perfect was developed by Alan Ashton and Brian Bastian at Brigham Young University.  In '92 Cardon and Bestor (alums of BYU) and Dave Wilson (also an alum and assistant engineer on the recording) were approached by Brian Bastian about filling up the blank disc space on the WP program distribution disc with music.  The downside was forgetting about the data partition and playing that back at listening levels.  To say "rude" is a bloody understatement!

Here is some more old music: from Citadels of Mystery by Bernie Krause.  It was one of the first examples of World Music I heard back in 1980.
