I trade emails with him every once in a while. The last I spoke with him his stereo exploits were pretty much on hold. They were doing some work on his house and as a result of the changes he was going to relocating his stereo to another room (what we don't do for domestic tranquility...
), so he was waiting until all that was done and would then see what he had to do to the system to make it work with the new space.
Hopefully we will start hearing from him again when he gets back into stereo mode.
In one of our recent conversations he was also very happy because they ran fiber into his neighborhood and he could get rid of the crappy DSL and finally get some decent high speed internet service.
I can understand how he feels. I am very spoiled with my Gigabyte Fios service. I can remember back in the days of dial-up modems when I once had to download a 5Mb driver file and it took several hours. Last night I purchased a album from HDTT in DSD256. It was sent to me as a 4.4 Gb zip file and I downloaded the whole thing in under 3 minutes!
