It was mentioned in a review I was reading and piqued my interest. I’m always looking for a good percussion fest.
Any other recommendations also appreciated.

Actually Jim a useful tool as suggested. My buddy has it. I borrowed it and helped my speaker location.

Slightly off topic but the local audio shop told me to check out Ultramarine, Signals in Space.  Not your typical listening but good for imaging check.

Interesting.

Never heard of this cd before, but my go to albums for percussion are:

The House of Flying Daggers soundtrack by Shigeru Umebayashi. Lots of Chinese drums and kodo-like drumming and ethnic wind instruments.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon by Tan Dun:

And for more traditional drums, this tribute album that features a who's who of modern rock, jazz, and progressive drummers:

Hi Nick,

Track 3 on Flying Daggers, The Echo Game, is a good test of a system's dynamics, as is 'Night Fight', Track 4 on Crouching Tiger.

Check out also Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble. Western and Asian instruments and lots of strings, flutes, percussive instruments, and drums.
