What is your favorite Haydn piece?  He's a composer I could never learn to appreciate, but I'm willing to try again.

I'm not sure that I can say I have a particular favorite Haydn piece. I usually listen to Haydn as general chill out music. I find it very relaxing and pretty much any of his music will do towords that end. However I would say that I think his Surprise Symphony (No. 94) is probably his most recognizable work.

There are soooo many...

LSC 1806  Also Sprach Zarathustra  Reiner and the Chicago Sym
LSC 2068  Rachmaninoff 2nd Concerto   Rubenstein and Reiner
LSC 2225  Witch's Brew  a TAS list standby
LSC 2285  Walton Facade    great sound
LSC 2323  Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsikov  Capricio Italienne and Espagnol
LSC 2336  Finlandia Sibelius   really nice
LSC 2424 4 Seasons  Vivaldi
LSC 2436 Pines of Rome Respighi  - legendary.  First pressing mixed too hot for the cartridges of the early 60's so they remixed it.  With modern styli it's the stuff of legends.  I've never heard a 1S copy, but I've got one of the later stampers and it's still amazingly good.
There are probably 30 more...

Let me add a few of my favorites from the RCA catalog:

LSC-2201 Pictures at an Exhibition
LSC-2446 Scheherazade
LSC-2367 Rhapsody in Blue
LSC-2471 Stokowski Rhapsodies
LSC-2449 Faust/Carmen (The one I posted a few days ago)
LSC-1817 Gaite Parisienne
LDS-6055 The Royal Ballet Gala

And of course, if you are going to move outside of the realm of classical music, you cannot pass by LSO-6006 Belafonte at Carnegie Hall

Wow.  You're really on a Mercury binge!  Several years back I bought an amp from a fellow who had collected the entire Mercury Living Presence catalogue except for 2 or 3 titles.  I find their sound musical and spacious, a bit more relaxed than their RCA peers.  It's also harder to find clean Mercury pressings, in my experience.  But with streaming, I guess that's not an issue.   :thumb:

It was hard to find clean quiet Mercury pressings even when they were new.

If anyone is looking for some of these LPs my recommendation it to  look for some of the reissues. Quite a few of the MLP LPs were reissued by Speakers Corner, Classic Records and more recently even Mercury itself (on180g vinyl.) You are much more likely to find a clean pressing from the reissue group and even with the inflated prices they get for some of the reissues that are out of print you are still likely to pay considerably less than you would for a clean original pressing.

And if you see any SACD titles that you  like for a decent price grab them because the going rates for the now all out of print Mercury LP SACDs is going up on a steady basis. The RCA Living Stereo SACDs can still be had for a reasonable price. I guess they sold more of them when they were first out so they are easier to find and therefore cheaper than the Mercuries. Most of the RCAs are selling for less than the MSRP while the Mercuries, when you can find then regularly sell for multiples of their original price. Just plain old supply and demand.

Or you could just stream them.

But I have found them not to be easy to find on the streaming services like Tidal. I have had the best luck by searching on the conductor and orchestra and then just picking the MLS and/or RCA Living Stereo titles out of their total body of work

And this one will make a Jasha Heifetz believer out of you (if you weren't already)

A critical review said Heifetz doesn't play the violin, he tortures it.  I think it just amazingly bold.
