Can you think of any ? To start Dylan;" How many times can a Man look up and pretend he just doesn't see"

Nothing from Bob Dylan for me. I have thought the Boss as more relevant than him.
What do you think about Townes Van Zandt?
I don't get a "feeling" a lot anymore about how profound lyrics are. Vienna Teng from Danny's latest GR-R video might have some stuff that could qualify? Seems intelligent but able to formulate substance.

Placebo: Too Many Friends (https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=placebo+too+many+friends+lyrics) Not sure it's extremely profound, but I find it's a pretty poignant commentary on modern society.

Ice Cube's " It was a Good Day" from The Predator album
We all can relate

"Yeah I shot them down, one by one
And left them 'long the rails
I only use my gun
Whenever kindness fails"
Songwriter: Robert Earl Jr Keen
Music by: Joe Ely

The most profound I've ever come across.
"..and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make."
-
"We are on the Eve of destruction"

Written three years ago, but in light of current events seem to be somewhat prophetic.

"Each of us so deep and superficial, between the forceps and the stone".
Joni
"I used to live in a room full of mirrors, all I could see was me."
Jimi
"All through your life....I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
George
"Do you realize that everyone you know will someday die?"
<...>
"Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face?"
Wayne Coyne and Flaming Lips
"Don't you worry, 'bout a thing. Cause every little thing gonna be alright."
Robert Nesta Marley

" All we need is Love" Beatles
charles

“I'm sick and tired of hearing things,
From uptight, short sighted, narrow minded hypocrites,
All I want is the truth,
Just gimme some truth”
John Lennon
-
" We are on the eve of destruction" " Bye bye Miss American Pie drove my Chevy to the levey but the levy was dry"

Land of the free and home of the brave.

"When the truth is found to be lies.
And all the joy within you dies.
Don't you want somebody to love? <...> You better find somebody to love."
Grace

"Am I young enough to believe in revolution
Am I strong enough to get down on my knees and pray
Am I high enough on the chain of evolution
To respect myself, and my brother and my sister
And perfect myself in my own peculiar way"
Kristofferson

I had the pleasure of doing the monitor mix for him about 40 years ago. He was a amazing person and performer! The man bought me ( and our whole team) a beer after the show. Kris and the rest of the SR crew sat and talked in a group of about 6 people and just shared stories about life and who and why we were The people that we were. He was interested in all of us on a personal level. He made all of us understand that everyone is special. Love the man. The next round is on me, Kris.
OTOH - Leon Redbone. What a prick. Condescending diva with a complete disdain for everyone... even for his backing band (tuba, snare, clarinet and contrabass). I thought that night would never end.
Funny how success and stardom amplifies who we, as humans, think we are.
Ahhhhhh. 72 years of memories, regrets and joys. Life is good! :thumb:

Don't know about profound but this line always makes me chuckle:
"You hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again"
Warren Zevon
"please allow me to introduce myself"
Richards / Jagger
Those words just pull you into a very dark song

I love Zevon. What a quirky dude with 'that voice' of his.
Did you get my emails?

I hit upon Passengers music several years ago and enjoy his work,
His latest album captures our Covid situation. The album is called Patchwork
This song captures the moment
