Headroom mini DAC

I wonder how good would this battery powered or wart wall unit work to be a USB decorder for either laptop or desktop machine.

I found some very good streaming radio websites that I wish to stream but want to maximize its sonic potential.

BTW, the Headroom mini DAC costs $299.

Jumped the gun and placed an order for the Micro DAC from Headroom.

I ordered it two days ago and got it just today.

In a quick listening comparison between direct headphone line out vs the USB through the Mini USB DAC is an astonishing difference in the quality of audio reproduction.

I will need to further make A/B comparisons between my Apple Mini Apple Lossless tracks via the USB DAC vs my standard, the 47 Labs Shigaraki Transport and DAC to my OB set up upstairs.  Lets see whether a $299 slugger will take on the transport and DAC that retail about $3500.   Only time will tell.  Right now, break it in and listen to some more music.

Do you have a verdict yet?

I take it you got this Mini DAC, not for headphone use (as I think it is frequently used for) but for a speaker system.
