Canary Audio CD-200

  I picked up this very nice mint condition redbook cd player from a gentleman in North Carolina.it is the most current cd player that Canary Audio builds and replaces the CD-100 that recieved a very good review @ the Six Moons website.it uses 6922 tubes in the output stage weighs 42lbs and has a aluminium remote control unit. ive been listening to it for a few hours and i am pretty impressed with it so far....WCW III

They are an American company. They seem proud of the quality of construction. I emailed them (Rosemead, CA) to find out if their stuff is made in US.  

Do you know what the list price is?

Hey Rich,My CD-200 is all black and looks better than the one shown on thier website.the Canary Audio box and the back of the player says made in USA and lettering above the drawer on the faceplate says Handcrafted in California.  someone wrote a review at AudioAsylum stating that the retail price for the CD-200 is $3500.i negotiated a price of $1350 and the unit is flawless with original box and manual included.i think i did really good  thanks....WCW III

 there are not any professional reviews of the CD-200 that i can find but given that Canary Audio is a small company that does not do much advertising its not very surprising. it sounds excellent and is detailed, smooth and above all musical. other manufacturers should take notes on how well this player is put together including the quality of the parts.according to the second Six Moons review the reviewer got his Canary Audio gear from this Guy in California @  www.jmsound.biz and according to his website this gentleman sells the CD-200 for $2495 which i believe is very reasonable for a redbook player this good. its a keeper in my book

  i was just thinking about your post and i just realised that my Sonatina 2's,BAT VK30 preamp,GTA SE40 poweramp,Canary CD-200 redbook player,MAC Palladium IC's,Grover S IC's,PNF Symphony speaker cables,and APC H15 power conditioner were all manufactured or handmade whatever the case may be in the USA from parts that i am sure come from across the globe.i have been trying out the Pangea power cables designed here and manufactured in China on my power amp ,preamp and digital source. maybe i am gravitating towards buying American because of pride of owning american made goods.does that make me nationalistic ?

Well I was being a little bit sarcastic with the nationalistic crack. I try not to be closed minded toward quality goods made in other countries, but I like to keep the dollars at home when I have the choice.
