Hey Steve,i some how missed this thread, Any of the guys who have spent time with one of your Preamplifier's would not be the least bit suprised with your customer Bernie's observations. your 11A does sound stellar
Hi Bunky,
Thanks for the compliments. Since last auditioned some years ago, I have slightly upgraded the 11A one time, as the tonal balance was slightly off. As mentioned earlier, critical parts are now hand measured to within 0,5% tolerance for unit to unit consistency.
For those new to audio, Bernie's comment really has huge meaning, which corresponded to my own scientific listening tests.
When one considers depth, width, dynamics, layering, tonal accuracy,
all the inner detail, whatever parameter one considers, nothing appears to change when the 11A is inserted into one's audio system. It is totally open, not veiling in any way, totally transparent, no glass in the window to smear, to fog up.
The one caveat is the following IC to the amplifier needs to be top notch or the IC will "flavor" the music. My "V"s, Jenalabs, Stealth all seem to work great, and I am sure there are other brands as well.
Cheers.
Steve
ps. New Aluminum chassis and knobs, Specify if you wish dots around volume knobs.
