RIP Gordon Lightfoot  :(

And Randy Bachman

Tim, not Randy, according to news reports anyway .

I'm familiar with BTO and Guess Who music, but not nearly as much as Grateful Dead. Besides the fact that I'm a phan of Gordon Lightfoot, and having seen him in concert once late in his career at the Beacon Theater, the Grateful Dead cover one, and only one Lightfoot song - Early Morning Rain. Phil Lesh is lead vocalist. Every Grateful Dead version of EMR is absolutely spectacular.

Yes indeed. There is a local radio station where I live that plays nothing but oldies but goodies. For the last couple of weeks before her death, he was playing a lot of Ike and Tina. It was one particular cut where she sings and he speaks. Great song but I have no idea what the title is…

Ed Ames has passed away. He sang some very romantic/thought provoking songs.
He was the one associated with the famous tomahawk throw on the Johnny Carson Show.

I’ve seen that clip from the Carson show. Couldn’t have been scripted any better. I watched the Daniel Boone series when I was a kid. I really enjoyed his singing
