Sky Moves Sideways
Porcupine Tree (Artist) | Format: Audio CD

Hey Bill, did I ever play any of this PT stuff when you were at my place? Since you like Pink Floyd I have to think you'd like this.

No Gene I don't believe you did. I'll get on to MOG and see what's there.

There are "phases" to Porcupine Tree.

First comes the spacy phase (Sky Moves Sideways, Signify, basically the early years).

Then came the poppier stuff (Lightbulb Sun, Stupid Dream).

Then came the harder prog-metal stuff (In Absentia, Deadwing, Fear of a Blank Planet).

Then came the bad album  that the record companies pushed and made them popular (The Incident).

Then came Steve Wilson's solo stuff, which leans more toward the spacier stuff in the beginning and is well worth the listen (Insurgentes, Grace For Drowning)

In my mind though, it's all good.

I'm sure you know the song "Black Magic Woman" that Santana did on Abraxas. Did you know that it was written/performed by Peter green of Fleetwood Mac 1st.

Dinah Shore -DInah, Yes, Indeed

1959 recording with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra.  Dinah was the among the first female vocalists to headline above the big band they fronted.  She was at her peak in the early to mid-fifties.  This is her first recording with Nelson Riddle for Capitol records, home of Frank Sinatra...in fact they have a blurb from Sinatra himself in the liner notes.
