Rich,
Are we still on for Saturday?
If so, is there anything you want me to bring?
Steve
-
Yes, we're still on.
I don't think you need to bring anything Steve. Several new amps and DACs will be present, plus your AR amps. Christina is baking cookies.

If there are no pics of the chili, it didn't happen.
Wishing all the best to the folks in NC. Stay cool and enjoy some tunes!

Pics coming. Good time was had by all!

Congrats, Rich!
I'm still hoping I can arrange a miracle this time next year.
I'm keenly interested to hear what folks thought of your upgraded Kairos speakers.
Michael
-
Hey Michael, I do hope you can get by here someday, that would be big fun.
Everybody had only positive things to say about the Kairos, which was very gratifying to hear. Those who have heard them before said they sounded better than before I did the port and tilted down the tweeter a little bit. They did sound really great with the visiting "big boy" super high end sources and amps, but also great with 100W tubes and vinyl. Midrange is fuller and bottom is more solid than closed box. One person said they sounded better than his Joseph Audio Pulsars.

As promised, pictures:
1. front: Auralic Vega DAC, Apple Airport, Vinnie Rossi LIO
back: NEC cdp, ARC Ref1 preamp, AR VT100k3 amp, Concept TT
2. Kairos with new ports, JPS SuperConductor 3 cables
3. shy jtwrace, poseidensvoice, stereofool, nc42acc
4. jtwrace's foot
5. Cranking the LIO up to MAX, but still not loud enough? Hmmm. Sol figured out JRiver volume was turned down.
6. ATSAH (boy) NC500 monoblocks. Take no prisoners control, minimal class D head squeeze.
7. Alice in Chains Unplugged LP spinning. When changing the preamp source select suddenly we heard a Strauss waltz. Someone said, is that the vinyl? My Sonos had an alarm set to play classical radio stream.
8. left: PI Audio Digi-BUSS, Samet I-60, Kairos, ATSAH (boy) NC500, stack, top down: Aurelic Aries Mini, Schitt Yggydrasil, Gustard DAC, NEC cdp, Aurelic Vega DAC front right.

Rich:
Who's DigiBuss?
Comments?
-
Very nice! Wish I could've been there.
:)
-
What's up with jtwrace's shyness? I'm sure I've seen a pic of him before.

jtwrace. We just used it as a power strip, no comparisons. sonicxtc (Steve) brought UberBUSS for a couple hours but sadly it never made it into the soup. I missed my big chance!

We missed you! And you missed some good sounds! The speakers sound awesome with the port we talked about adding more than a year ago! :duh

He's not shy. Maybe he's a fugitive?
