Eric Clapton: Just One Night

Nautilus dbx Encoded LP

OK this is living proof that everything on LP is not gold. I don't know if it is the dbx encode/decode process itself, the hardware used to do it or the somewhat cheap cables used in my system to hook it all together, but I compared this LP to the MoFi gold CD release of the same album and the CD had it all over the dbx LP in almost every sonic characteristic. For those keeping track (you know you're out there...  :duh) this is the 3rd time that I have publicly admitted in these pages that there is a CD that I liked better than its corresponding LP. Luck for us that I didn't mention this last week, the news might have caused a shift in that "end of the world" thing.  (I know that somebody was about to say it, so I saved you the trouble.  )

The dbx LPs just don't do it for me.

Nah, I quit before 1. That's like half a day in my book.  :duh

You know it's funny how your perspective on things changes as you get older. Talk to somebody over 50 about pulling an "all-nighter" and they'll think you are referring to sleeping all the way through to 8AM without getting up to pee!

I can't remember the last time I slept all the way until 8AM (although I don't have those prostate issues about peeing at night). I'm too used to rising at 5:30-6AM all week long that my body wakes itself up on Sat and Sun morning no later than 7AM.

I know someone who built a "sleeping room" in their master bedroom. It has no exterior walls and no windows so they won't get sunshine in their eyes in the morning and can sleep whenever they want without care about daytime or nighttime. It seemed a little strange to me at the time but I can admire their forsight.

Sleep is what you do when you run out of records to listen to.  :thumb:

..... or to shop for.  #-o
