Firefox (not hardware)
« on: October 14, 2009, 11:03:08 AM »
Firefox 3.5.4 is the latest version (yesterday). I've always been a fan but this time when I restarted it after the upgrade, all my favorites were gone and it is bloody slow to open. Anyone else notice this?

There is a huge Microsoft virus update in the pipeline now, I got it for XP and Vista machines. Maybe that is slowing down your ride. Check your Task Manager Process list to find the hog. Firefox has an import function, maybe you can use that to find and bring in the bookmarks.

No I already did that. Nothing showing. I think there's a bug in this latest version. I did manage to import an old list from IE (which I never use) and from Chrome. It's messy but I can delete and re-arrange. The shitty thing is that the password manager (skipper) also disappeared and the passwords are gone for good. SInce my brain is a sieve, this is seriously annoying.

Shep,
I just checked 3.5.3 is the latest update.

Where did you get 3.5.4???

Den

3.5.4 looks like an unofficial version?

Looks like a beta release scheduled for 10-21-09 release.

That is really odd. It simply asked me if I wanted to download this update and says nothing about it being a beta version. Even odder is that this morning it starts up in a flash. I did nothing in-between. I got Skipper to work again but will have to "teach" it all the passwords again. I still prefer Firefox to all other Browsers. I hate IE in any version, Chrome is fast but missing a lot of features and is frankly ugly. Haven't tried Opera in years. Etc. blah blah.  Any way now it's working properly.

That's what I do, just wait for the auto update through FireFox.
But that oner has not come through. Your right I think FireFox is best.
Every time I tried one of the others I go back to FireFox.

You have to run IE for the Micro Sloth system updates.
