Manufacturer News / Re: Stereophile's Recommended Components Fall 2024 Edition

Triode Wire Labs is proud to be on Stereophile's Recommended Components list again!!! A huge Thank You to Herb Reichert & Ken Micallef!!!

Triode Wire Labs Digital American II Digital AC cord: $549 up to 5'
The High Power Digital American power cord was reportedly designed for power amps, power regenerators, power conditioners, and power bars: a theme emerges. Nevertheless, HR began his time with Triode Wire's cord by using it with digital source components, including his Schiit Audio Yggdrasil D/A processor, and was impressed: "I was surprised to hear more even more vigor, more distinctly drawn images, and a lot more physicality." A few days later he reinstated the Schiit's own stock cord, but after playing only two CDs "became impatient" and went back to the Triode Wire Labs. That said, when he tried the Digital American with his Pass Labs solid state amp, he found the improvement less remarkable than with the more expensive AudioQuest Storm Tornado cord. (Vol.41 No.8 WWW)

Cheers,
Pete

Well deserved, my friend!  :thumb:

Congratulations!   The Audioquest edged out your cord, as it should for more than twice the price!

The ABC Switch RPi5 and Relay control boards are now connected.

Time for some relay testing for channel #1 then swap to channel #2.  Then onto both.

Amplification and Preamplification / Power Resistors
« Last post by steve on October 01, 2024, 08:06:49 PM »
When it comes to designs, say in cathode biased outputs, bypassing the power resistors
with good bypass capacitors does not alleviate the sonic effects that the power resistors
often cause.

I have found the Mills MRA resistors to be sonically exceptional. With that said, there is also an
MRB version. There is a physical difference.

1. The MRB incorporates a steel end cap where as
2. the MRA uses a "copper" end cap.
3. Both use copper leads

I have not compared the two for sonic differences, but wish that all become aware of the physical
differences. Material differences normally cause sonic differences.

Hope this helps.

Built the two relay driver pc boards and wired them to the output connections.

Next is to wire the RPi5 GPIO wiring to the driver pc boards.

The time to test the relay switching.
