Title: New Member CongaMike
Post by: CongaMike on November 30, 2018, 03:46:25 PM
Hello from Capitola Ca., small beach town south of Santa Cruz. Long time lurker here really enjoy hearing owners
reviews and implementation of various pieces of equipment and cables. A lot of it is beyond my understanding but I am learning.
Love music, various rhythms ie. Cuban Folkloric, Latin Jazz, Salsa but also Rock, Soul and Country. I'm 69 so I was lucky
to grow up and go through a lot of great, new at the time, genres of music. My main system consists of an AVA Synergy 450 Amp,
Fet Valve CF Pre, Sony SCD-C555ES, Bolder ICs, Salk SC Songtowers, and TWL Speaker cables. Audeze 1st Gen. headphones,
SCHIIT LYR Amp, Bolder modified Logitech Duet, and Gustard DAC-X20U.

Hey Mike, great to have you here! That’s quite an interesting and eclectic system you have. Was up in the Santa Cruz area once...very nice. Any system changes on the horizon or are you a content audiophile...momentarily 😀?

Welcome Mike and thanks for your interest in the sale of my UberBuss.  I've marked it as sale pending. As soon as I receive your payment, I'll mark it sold and ship to to PI Audio (Dave) for the receptacle upgrade.

I'm a retired audio nut also  :thumb:

Congrats on you first purchase on AN and welcome to Uberland! All I did was pass the money along to Triode Pete for another power cord

Thanks for the welcome guys. Nick, yea I'm kind of all over the place with my system. Truth be told I'm one of those jump on the
band wagon type of Audiophools, although I usually hold off until there is a lot of good reviews or the finances allow it. Problem
is I don't turn my equipment over as I acquire new things so I have a closet full stuff, which i think is fairly common.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the sound of my system (love the Salks). Would like a simple but quality streaming device for my main system next. Not very computer savvy and trying to wade through the tons of info available.

Don’t feel bad. Lots of us audiophools around.... As to streamers, I like my Auralic Mini with dedicated power supply and some guys here use the Bluesound. There are some computer savvy guys here

Mike,

If you are interested in server/streamer, I love my Salk StreamPlayer Gen III. Beats spinning CDs and Tidal is well worth it.  Roon makes the integration of streaming and your ripped CD library seamless. Jim's support on this product is great.  You don't need to be an IT guy to get it up and running.

Nick and Don,
Thanks for the suggestions. I have kept an eye on the Salk line of streamers. Sounds like a fairly easy set up. Just wish I could experience one locally. Maybe try to attend a show if he comes to to the west coast. Really like the support he provides. I'll
check out the reviews on the Auralic Mini and Bluesound. Lots of options.

Thanks Charles, yes I play congas, not professionally but I got to play for an African dance class at the University I worked at
as a Locksmith for 27 years. Wow, that makes me sound old, but I guess I am.
Been lurking here for quite some time now and I agree it seems like a cordial and informative place.
