Equitech Q 650: Can I use with an amp?
« on: July 28, 2009, 08:33:59 PM »
My source (with preamp) is plugged into my equitech Q650 which was apparently designed specifically for source equipment.  I recently tried plugging in my Butler 2250 amp too, and it sounded very good, but I'm concerned about overloading the unit.  How would I know if this happens?  And is there any potential for damaging the equipment attached?

I would think about an upgrade but am already scheduled for a source upgrade and it will eat my budget this year.  The only info I can find on the equitech is this description:  6.5 amp Q650, model Q, 15 amp cord.

Thanks for any advice.

Send me a pm that list's exactly what you want to plug into it and I will let you know.

I'd like to publically thank John for a quick and informative reply.  We could use more such folks in audio.
