I just discovered this cool internet radio station from their paid ad on Google.

http://www.accujazz.com

They have dedicated channels for particular types of jazz. ECM, BlueNote, Bird&Diz, Ellington, Modern, etc. Looks like they have just about every possible jazz category represented. Check it out!

Thanks shep, i hope so. I haven't listened to it much yet, just thru the infernal laptop speakers. They don't say anything about bitrate, resolution, etc.   The guy who owns/runs it is a jazz musician with good programming chops. So it can't be too bad!

Me too. My laptop has no resolution and zero bitrate. In fact I would rate it at vintage 1960 transistor radio.
But it's nice just to click on one of their catagories and just let it play softly. Huge selection it would appear.

I'm listening through my office system.
Usher R-0.8 Amp
Usher P-307 Preamp
The sound is very good.

Right now listening to "WOMEN OF JAZZ" Channel.
Can't decide which channel to try next.
What a great way to explore various styles of jazz.
I'm hooked!

Thanks Rich! :thumb:

Nice, just fired up the Groove Jazz channel at work. HiFace SPDIF -> KECES DAC -> Diy tube preamp, Mackie MR5 active monitors and it sounds way better than I expected.

Watching the network usage it looks to send the file and buffer it in memory, so can't really get a good idea of bits/second.

Ah, found it on their site:
(5) We stream at 32 kbps, which makes for a good-sounding Internet radio station but is not quite a quality level that most consumers feel is a substitute for CD ownership.

Great!  Glad you guys are digging it.

Thanks for finding the bitrate Mike. I looked for it, but not diligently. I guess it's more about beat and melody than stoking the audionervosa.  :thumb:  That's always a good thing.
