In the previous thread about JAZZ FM92 I mentioned WKCR in NYC. It is Columbia University's on campus radio station.
http://kanga.college.columbia.edu:8000/listen.plsI got nostalgic of when I used to hang out there with some friends who were DJs there so I went looking for the stream. They still play "Bird Flight" every morning from 8:20 - 9:30AM M-F. This is an hour of pure Charlie Parker. Outtakes, history, stories, hosted by jazz historian Phil Schapp. This show has been playing for many many years. I was there in 86 and it had been on the air for a long time already.
They also have an annual Clifford Brown birthday celebration, Beethoven, and other dedicated "orgies" of important musical artists. You New Yorkers already know about KCR, but since I just found out that they do stream, it is a great resource for jazz and classical fans everywhere. Nothing like it for Bird lovers.
