New Sub- Give Me Some Low Bass Stuff To Play With
« on: February 08, 2021, 02:08:19 PM »
As title says... I listen to just about anything with the exception of modern country. Prog rock, rock, classical, jazz, rap, old country, etc. Just looking to hit up Tidal for some things to shake the rafters. Even better when it’s real music. Thanks for any suggestions.

Olive "Indulge Me"

Bela Fleck "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo"
https://youtu.be/Tt_22fXoDYs

Trust me, as a bass fanatic, these two are incredible. Not sure if these YT links are getting the message across.
But suffice it to say, that if you get the correct versions, it'll vibrate the hairs on your body.
If you're set up right, it'll vibrate your clothing and feel it in your chest. (recording dependent, of course).

That whole UFO Tofu Bela Fleck recording that The Hippo comes from is an awesome recording for LF, dynamics and percussive banjo.  Futureman's Synthaxe Drumitar has some great effects, too.  One of my all time faves for bass... Victor Wooten.

Oh yea, Wooten is great too!
Speaking of bass, the "WOOD" and WOOD II albums from Brian Bromberg has some nice bass to it as well. Not the ultimate visceral gut punch true test of a subwoofer, but should tell you if you've got a "one note sub" or not.
Here's one tune: https://youtu.be/TgOWa-RdL9Y

By the way, I've heard some versions of the "Hippo" that were actually pretty bad. I think it was the live ones?

Clarence Clemons - Peacemaker

There are a couple of cuts that have some real good bass.

I don't know if these two fit your criteria James, but the deep bass is certainly there.

Here is real pipe organ, Pictures at the exhibition. I see one selection that is 33 minutes long.

Titanic used a notched 64 foot pipe for the very deep bass.

Maybe this one by Paul and Paula?

Because of this thread, I went through an old "audiophile playlist", and thought I'd share these.

You might want to sneak up on this one, the bass is pretty strong.
Terje Isungset - Fading Sun - https://youtu.be/dONSkfbxnao

Chris Jones - Long After You're Gone - https://youtu.be/D-h6MoF7HLA

I'm adding this one, as it has enough bass to be given an honorable mention here.
Beyond that, it's JUST FUN.

Oh, yeah.  I forgot:

Pete Belasco - Deeper

21Hz - 808 drop... it is a pant leg shaker for sure!

Thanks Bob.  I got interrupted and forgot to add that link.  :thumb:

IIRC the precise frequency is 20.6Hz or E0
