Just stumbled upon this from the people that make the Anti Mode 8033. Looks like a good price :thumb:

From the FAQ "The S/PDIF receiver supports the standard PCM rates 32kHz/44.1kHz/48kHz plus 96kHz with upto 24 bits, whatever comes from the source. The S/PDIF receiver can also be configured to support 192kHz. We are not sure if 192kHz will be enabled in the first firmware version."
So it works in the digital domain and if put between pre and amp it would involve conversion from analogue to digital and back again. It would probably be better done from a computer or transport source via USB input and use this as the DAC. I think that would be a better location. In fact, it has a volume control built in so if you have a one source digital system you wouldn't need a preamp. Cool.
But it doesn't work for us vinyl heads (and you've been assimilated).

$1200(?) I'll pass...

Seems like a good value, at least compared to the competition like Tact. I like that auto processing is limited to <500Hz, but manual tweaks above 500 are possible. Nice find Evan!

I guess Rich, but you could get a HT pre-pro for that much with room-correction built in, no?
-
Barry if you take into account the price of room correction this is a steal.

Yeah, I guess I never really looked into it...

That's a good point Barry. Consumer room correction is a lot cheaper now than it was just a few years ago. But I think the inexpensive receivers just adjust amplitude and distance delay. I think this thing normalizes phase too? If so, that is similar capability of tact and DEQX, etc, which cost twice as much.
How well it really works and how good are its automatic choices is for the ears to decide! I'm sure we'll be hearing more about it with that Golden Ear and low price.

Or just get this amp with DSP, only $500.

Interesting find. Never was a big fan of digital room correction. Granted I have not heard the latest and greatest efforts out there. Maybe this could change my mind.
