Listened to the Acoustic Zen Crescendos Last Night...

This is a great sounding speaker- I LOVE the tonal balance. It definitely leans toward the warm and cozy end of things.
Imaging was also excellent. Soundstage depth was great- it seemed as if some singer's voices were emanating three feet behing the speakers.
They are more than I want to spend, but we'll see...

Well... They are on their way. The Crescendos should ship this week according to Robert Lee. I will post my impressions, and have some Syndrome members over for a listen in the coming weeks.

Given the speaker change are to still looking to swap out your separates for an integrated or are you going to stick with the Moscode for now?

  Hey Jim good move. Enjoy !!!!!!!! Now be advised that they require a minimum of 400 hours to sound right. They also shine with tubed gear. The Moscode actually may very well be a great match. Check out Cayin intergrated amps as well. Unless you can find a VAC "Avatar" the ultimate IMO.  I believe Phil from the Rave is dealer. He would give you sound advice as to an intergrated for those speakers.

Congrats Jim. Robert's speakers are great. I agree with Charlie - my fav Acoustic Zen auditions have been
with tube amps, they are friendly to tubes. But a good amp is a good amp, the moscode will surely get you there.  Please share some pictures when you get them setup! Thanks

I was looking at the Crescendo web page (thanks for the link Rich  ) and all four of the wood choices look gorgeous. Which one are you getting?

I'm going full steam ahead- and surely disappointing everyone by sticking with my plan for an integrated. I really did have to consider space constraints- an amp, preamp, phono preamp, and all the necessary  interconnects and power cords take up space. The Moscode amp and Primaluna pre are definitely still for sale.
I purchased the Crescendos in Rosewood.
As far as the integrated amp goes, I went with an LSA Signature. It has a tube preamp section, and Solen output transistors. I sent Robert Lee a list of four different integrateds, and he said out of those, he liked the LSA. It also has an built-in phono stage too.

Come on Rich, do you think I, as someone who has owned Thiels for over 22 years would not notice or appreciate fine fit and finish?

I purchased the Crescendos in Rosewood.

I was hoping you would say that. My first choice as well. When Steve & Nick were still running AudioVisions they bought all of their Thiel floor models in the Rosewood finish. If is one of their richest finishes and it seems to blend in easily with mopst other kinds of wood trhat may already be in a room.
