The Wailin' Jennys performed last night at Athens Junior High School, Athens, Tennessee.

Ruth Moody and T. Nicole "Nicky" Mehta, soprano and mezzo-soprano respectively, are two founding members of the group from the prairie heartlands of central Canada (provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba).  Third alto group member has changed twice since formation - the first two were also Canadians, but current alto member is Heather Masse - born in Maine and now living in Brooklyn borough of New York City.
A Winnipeg fiddle player, Jeremy, accompanies the girls.

The voices - one, two, or three are at the heart of their music.
Some resemblance/reminiscence to the Dolly Parton/Linda Ronstadt/Emmylou Harris Trio,
but these gals voices wrap around each other and "meld" in heavenly fashion.

Go see them if you can.
See other thread for locations/dates!

Instrumentally:
Ruth adds guitar, banjo, and accordion
Nicky plays guitar, ukelele, harmonica, drum, and occasionally removed her right boot to play kick drum
 Heather plays upright bass
