I thought Radio Shack collapsed years ago. Yet I just visited their website.

Yup. They just closed their brick and mortar retail operations.

Ya, some of their stuff is actually useful when you're busy testing etc. It was a hell of a lot better when they were at the bottom of the hill from me though...

Thanks, Steve. Useful info. Also thought they were completely shut down.

When tbey went out in my area, I went to 3 of them in my area and bought hundreds of dollars worth of stuff at up to 90% off. A lot of usefully stuff. Wish they were still around here. Great place to grab something for testing or that one switch or LED you forgot to order.

That is where I bought the Multimeter.

Nice comments/insites guys. I wish there was a store near me as well Folsom. I still have a 65-655 scientific calculator,
a 22-220 Micronta FET analog volt/amp/resistance meter with the x100k resistance range, and 40 watt soldering iron/tips that I still use.
Loved those small parts, resistors, switches, fuses, diodes etc., right there when an emergency came up, missing that one part, that one resistor, needed for testing a project. Now you gotta spend 6 bucks on shipping if you order a 10 cent resistor.
Yesterday was better in many respects, RS is one.

i still buy their batteries (rechargeable). I do miss them close though when you need something odd and quickly.

Just bought a soldering iron with 30W and 60W settings for less than $30.
