I don't remember if I have used this link before, but Morgan sounds like she is right in the kitchen.
This selection is so unbelievably transparent.

Steve,
I don’t recall seeing this one before. I’m sure I’ve never seen a recording done in the kitchen.
That was fun. Thx

Hi all.
80% of the links posted here I cannot see.
Propably because they detect that I am in Vietnam.
Lots of audio & video on You Tube are blocked or unavailable here.
So, I am not surprise.

There is lots of good stuff to discover on You Tube
like this one that gives me goose bumps and maybe you guys
don't like it or find it boring,
but that's o.k. each one has his preferences.

Your welcome Nick. I find it to be one of the best recordings for transparency. I don't see the mic, so the
room ambience really shows through.

I already probably mentioned it, but Morgan will be at "Five Points" in Washington, Illinois Jan 11th of 2020. I may attend, will see.

Guy, that is interesting music, nice recording as well. What surprises me is the youth of the player in such
a quality recording. That kid is good.

The recording sounds good and I like the song. Personally, I am not a fan of electric organs, but a true pipe organ is another story. Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington has classes, maybe even a degree in pipe organ.

This selection may be my all time favorite song, for melody and the singer's talent. It sounds like I am right there listening in at the venue, singer on stage, natural voices.

For general consumption, Emanne sang the song in a different language. The song, "Everything I do, I do for you", was number 1 on the singles charts in England for a record 16 weeks back in 1992. For me, Emanne's version blew away the original. I hope she incorporates it in one of her CDs.

Here is a chance to audition/compare three cello players. Notice the sonic difference due to instrument, recording technique, players technique, venue etc.

Here are two piano pieces that have ambience, naturalness, dynamics in Spades. These two recordings
are very tough to beat in any sense of the word.

Here is a one of the best recording with truly great ambience and naturalness. You should just see the hall itself with the pianos within. George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, played at Weber State University on September, 2012.

Being at Weber State University, student orientated, I guess that is what young adults like?

What really amazes me is the openness, ambience, and tonal quality of the instruments, the total entity of the recording. Although the room echos/ambience makes it a little more difficult to tell the pianos apart, I find it exciting. I feel I am right there, listening/looking at them.

I think this recording is right on the edge. Some songs speaker positions are not that critical, others selections are extremely critical. If one's system is even just slightly lean, this recording can make pianos sound thin. I use this selection, along with dozens of other recordings when adjusting my speakers position in the room for proper tonal shading.

Here is a selection I may have posted before, will test your bass reproduction, also has ambience and voice.

Here is a link to an excellent percussion recording, with discussions, using various techniques and from 1 mic to 5 mics.

This is a pretty good test for stereo image, dynamics, ambience, sound stage etc. It will also help those who wish to make their own recordings.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPPhmyBIi6k

I thought I would add one more, a comparison of three saxophones. I find the sax is close to, if not the most difficult instrument to reproduce. Interested in your opinion of this short recording.

Thanks Steve for the link on drums.
With my modest ambiant music set-up
it sounds fantastic, especially with two or more microphones.
For the saxophone, on my system, it sounds terrible...
Thanks anyway.
