I thought they were all red labels, but pulled some at random, mostly blue.
They all say either recorded in Europe or recorded in England - but all read 'made in USA'. Based on the links I posted, from '53 - '57 Angels were imported from Europe, then after that made in USA.

I'll have to go through the boxes in the garage for some of the copper colored labels the 2nd link I posted speak of, I think I may have some.

What a brain fart. How the heck did I miss that.

Anyway, except for the $320 part it sounded like a good day.  :thumb:

TMAZZ -
I've collected a bunch of those Angels, I always assumed they were original, guess I'll have to pull some and check.

Edit: http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Angel_Records

Edit2: A clue, though the images of the labels are missing, at;

The second link comes up on my Firefox browser as all Chinese characters. Do you have some kind of plug-in that does an English translation?

Look at top right, above the search box, there's a drop down, click it -  it toggles Chinese-English.

Thanks. Since the box was at the time in Chinese I never would have figured out what it was.  ](*,)

Too bad none of the pictures are showing up. This would be a very valuable reference if they did.

I see some jazz sneaking in there. Could this be an indication of a shift in the time-space music continuum?  I see some jazz sneaking in there. Could this be an indication of a shift in the time-space music continuum?

That really is a nice selection of LPs, both from the jazz and the classical perspective. I’m getting all excited just reading the list. I know you are going to have a ball when that box arrives.

Chad is really a great guy. I have been buying records from him since Acoustic sounds was a one man operation running out of his mother’s garage. Now he not only has a huge warehouse but production facilities and a record pressing plant. I just got an e-mail announcement that the first release from his new plant will be a 200g remastering of Cat Stevens’ Tea for the Tillerman. I have the MoFi UHQR and will be very interested to see how the new pressing stacks up.   :drool:

They also started taking pre-orders on 33 1/3 and 45 RPM pressings of Ben Webster’s Gentle Ben, another great album, although I’m not sure if this will be coming out of Chad’s plant.

Oh, I think Jerome has always had the jazz bug, but recent conversation has brought it more to the forefront for him.

Jazz is without a doubt my first love in music and is never far from the forefront of my thoughts.  But as I have said before, I get into listening modes where I intensely focus on a certain kind of music and will block out everthing else.  I am in the midst of a classical music run at the moment that has lasted nearly 4 months, and there's no telling when it will end.   It's a very fine place to be as far as musical choice is concerned.  :D

I definitely miss my jazz, but I haven't yet quenched my thirst for classical and until I do it will probably remain in exclusive rotation.  I have been exploring a lot of choral works lately, mostly in the form of requiem mass and other spiritual works, and have a bunch on tap to hear.  This has been music that I deliberately avoided in the past, but I find it particularly appealing today.  I'm also expanding my collection of operas (in addition to Wagner, of whom I have always been a big fan).

Jerome -

Been in a classical mind set for past 15 months, adding Jazz to it when I come up for air, and the stray rock title that I remember from my youth, rather than crosspost pics, look here;

http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=72684.msg943441#msg943441

And this is with me ignoring Westminster label so far, though Crackie the vinyl dealer has plenty of them, plus some Ergo which I've grabbed about a dozen or so.
