Wow, nice haul is surely an understatement. The listed LPs alone make it a great find and I'm sure there is a lot more good stuff in the other 2/3s that you didn't itemize. Way to go! :thumb:

Did you grab these at a local store or was this an online find?

I bought them from a couple of sellers on eBay that I have come to trust.  They usually give me a heads up if they are listing classical or jazz that might be of interest to me.  It's hard for me to find the time to drive to record stores.  There are several good ones in the Hartford area, but I only hit them once or twice a year.  I wish I could get out there more often.

It's nice to have a relationship with guys like that.

Just remember you have to drive to a store tomorrow. It's National Record Store Day!  :D

It really is, especially when you consider how most dealers list records on eBay.  I'm used to reading BS like "this record is absolutely pristine and near mint except for the 1" scratch on side 2 that makes an audible pop for about a minute.  I also like sellers who use their own grading scales instead of Goldmine.  You know, the scale that says records that are really VG get listed as VG+, and VG+ get listed as VG++ (or EX) and VG++ as NM, and NM...well, those are the records that they try to reseal and sell as new old stock.

I only wish I could.  Tomorrow also happens to be the "Jerome Gets to Spend His Weekend Working" celebration.  Fortunately I will be working from home, but I will be chained to the desk in my home office all weekend.  :(

On the bright side, I get to listen to music while I work.  8)

Thanks Bill, at least one of us is holding up our moral obligation to support National Record Store Day!  :thumb:

I had a whole trip laid out making a loop trough all of the local record stores and then my wife's home health aid didn't show up. She told us last week that she was going to be in the West Indies this weekend for her son's wedding and evidently forgot to tell the agency so they never assigned a replacement... or so they say. But regardless of why, I am now stuck at home all day on nursing duty.

Hey, one day at a time. You just do what you have to do.

Maybe I'll just have to make up for my lack of mobility today by doing some online shopping tonight.  (Any excuse is better than none.  8-[ )

You need to go back and look for "The Original Soundtrack", it has 'I'm Not In Love', their biggest hit.

If you can put up with a CD, Better records has a great deal on copies of the gold CD of "The Original Soundtrack".

This CD was never released because of licensing issues. But before they ran into problems DCC started pressing the discs and Better Records got their hands on whatever stock they produced before the release was canceled.  Nice deal at only $19.99 for a DCC Gold CD (just the CD, no booklets or other artwork was ever printed.)

So I drove up to a record store today, a different crack house, thinking I could score some deals because yesterday's national record day was a bit of a washout due to torrential downpours here in Pennsylvania. But that was not to be. Eleazar and his wife met me, and when we saw the prices of things I just thought I'd grab two or three items and call it a day. Instead I walked out over $200 poorer, but I think I got some good items, certainly a few things I've been looking for to wit:

Miles Davis-the Man with a Horn
- Miles Davis and the lighthouse All-Stars
-blue haze
- Walkin
-steamin'
-relaxin'
-and horns
Shirley Scott-soul-searching
-Shirley's sounds
- girl talk
John Coletrane-lush life
- traneing in
- coltrane's sound, 180g
Thelonius Monk-with John Coltrane
- its monks time, 180g
-plays Duke Ellington
Maher Vishnu Orchestra-Apocalypse
Sonny Rollins-on impulse
Ella Fitzgerald-like someone in love
-the Duke Ellington songbook volume 2
Al Di Meola-land of the midnight Sun
Chet Baker-sings and plays Billie holiday 1965
Jazz at the Philharmonic-at the Montreux Jazz Festival 1975
the Charlie Parker story-number 2
Montreux Summit-v1

I'm sure Bill will be along to post his prize.
