2. Radiohead ~ There there      3 song EP
3. Coleman Hawkins ~ Wrapped Tight
4. Tangerine Dream ~ Green Desert
5. Tangerine Dream ~  Exit
6. George Benson ~ In Flight
7. Mike Oldfield ~ Exposed       2 Live Albums   UK LP
8. Split Enz ~ Best Of   History Never Repeats Itself
9. The B52's ~ Mesopotamia
10. Antonio Carlos jobim ~ Terra Brasillis
11. Mighty Baby ~ A Jug Of Love       This is A 180g UK reissue limited to 1000 pressings mine is # 458

Tangerine Dream, especially the Exit album provided the soundtrack to a whole lot of my college studying.

If you look at back cover and turn it 90 degrees counter-clockwise (the opening will be at the bottom, be careful not to let the record fall out) the photo is of the entrance to the building that my wife worked in at her first job out of college.  where the face is at the end of the hallway is actually a big number 32. Right before the number you turned left to of into the building .

The back of this LP only has a pic. of the band

OK, I checked it and I am the one with the import (a British pressing from Virgin records). This is the front cover from mine:

Regardless, the photo that you have on your front cover is the one I was talking about originally.

After all this talk about covers now I am going to have to go down to the mancave and actually listen to the album.  :thumb:

Does one actually listen to a Tangerine Dream album?  I've always thought they were background music for doing other things...studying (see above), cleaning (usually slowly in a dreamlike state) and smoking pot (so I've heard).

True, you usually don't listen to Tangerine Dream, you just absorb it.   8)

Here's a sweet stash of original Command Classics gold label pressings from the late 1950s and early 1960s.

I bought them from a dealer in PA that I trust and have been buying records from for years.

Wow, nice haul is surely an understatement. The listed LPs alone make it a great find and I'm sure there is a lot more good stuff in the other 2/3s that you didn't itemize. Way to go! :thumb:

Did you grab these at a local store or was this an online find?

I didn't hit a gold strike like Jerome, but I had a rather good day  at the Crack House today. Kind of light on LPs, but I did come way with 29 CDs.

Heres a sampling of what I found:

Solti Chicago Showcase / London ffss LP
Beethoven Bicentennial Collection - Symphonies & Overtures Part One/DG 5 LP Set

All the rest were CDs:

Dvorak String Quartets 12 & 13/ Kocian Qaurtet/ Denon
Cesar Frank - Quintette for Piano & Strings/Quatour Athenaeum-Enesco String Quartet/ Pierre Vernay
Rouse - Symphony No.1/Baltimore SO/Eleektra/Nonesuch
Theodor Kirchner - Works for Piano/Trefor Smith - Piano/ Koch
Africa; The Piano Music of William Grant Still/Denver Oldham - Piano/ Koch
Frank - Complete Works for Organ, Vol. 1/ Anthony Newman, Piano/ Newport Classics
Ives - Symphing No. 1/ London SO/ Chandos
Joni Mitchell - Hits/ Reprise HDCD
Joni Mitchell - Both Sdes Now/ Reprise HDCD
Animal House - Original Soundtrack/MCA

More listings to come.......

You know Gene that's the thing about the Crack House. It's a thrift shop not a record store. So they get in records and CDs whenever somebody decides to unload some for the tax write off along with the boxes of old clothes, the no longer needed baby furniture etc. you never know when a bunch of decent condition music will show up, but when it does it is usually in a big batch (somebody downsizing before they move to Florida dumping a whole collection and things like that) and when a good collection does come in it usually gets bought up  pretty quickly and in large chunks (hey I resemble that remark.) Thus my compulsion to check in several times a week, just to make sure they didn't just put out a new batch. For example it has been about 3 or 4 weeks since I have walked out of there with more than one or two pieces and yesterday I walk in and, boom, I have a cart filled with 20+ CDs (Slow day for records  :( ) That's just the way it happens there. (I also found some on the used  book rack in the library. It was a good day for music.) And now I'll probably go through another drought at the Crack House, but it will take me a while to go through all that I grabbed yesterday, so that will hopefully hold me over until I can find some more.  8-[
There are certainly better places to go if your objective is to just go out and buy a record (PREX and several record stores on LI), but the Crack House is certainly a fun place to engage your hunter-gatherer instincts.  :thumb:

I bought them from a couple of sellers on eBay that I have come to trust.  They usually give me a heads up if they are listing classical or jazz that might be of interest to me.  It's hard for me to find the time to drive to record stores.  There are several good ones in the Hartford area, but I only hit them once or twice a year.  I wish I could get out there more often.
