Here is a "simple", minimalist recording of an upright 88 keyboard piano's lowest and highest notes,
and a few in between. Should be simple, so let's see how your audio system performs.

Thanks Nick. I almost can't believe how good the sound is. I can only imagine how good the sound
would be if truly excellent equipment were used in the recording.

This selection will have not only a large sound stage but some guts, especially at the beginning, and bottom end.
a powerful selection. See if your system handles the dynamics, the spl deviation, or wimps out.

Here’s some K Pop by the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra. I think malloy has mentioned this genre before. Is that correct, Paul?

Nick,

I only now read your post! This is interesting. Korean pop songs (from all girl groups) performed by a Japanese orchestra/band.

Here is the orchestra's English language site: https://www.tkwo.jp/en/

How did you find this?

Paul

Nicely done Jazz renditions of some early Black Sabbath songs.  Nicely recorded as well.

Adam Wakeman on keyboards, Rick Wakemans son.

Just listened to it on Tidal and I really like it. The album holds its own as good jazz even without the Black Sabbath references.

Here is a short selection from Moldau. I cannot describe the sound, except it is hypnotic, and perfection. The quality of your system will be tested, from lows through the highs.

I think we may have another rising star. The recording is descent, clear voice with no strain, a little smooth due to effects added, with emotion, maybe a touch soft in dynamics? See what you think.

I just found this one. Really open, transparent with lots of ambience. She sounds like she is in a
gigantic venue, which she is.

Good to see sopranos singing something other than opera, which I don't like. There are some great
songs for them to sing.

First is Amira singing Once upon a time in the West.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnl-jEhnf6M

This one is of Patricia Janeckova, same song title. Smoother voice imo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KoHslpHQPc

I have not found any tenors.

Anyway, we have some great talent coming.

Here is one I debated to list, but not because of the voice. It is because many don't like opera, which I don't either.
However, this particular selection I happened to run across has a soprano voice so pleasing, it is almost like butter. I think it may be the most pure soprano voice I have ever heard.

Let me know what you think.

Steve,
She has a beautiful voice, indeed and I always enjoy hearing Andrea Bocelli.  I had not heard of this Russian opera star.
I’ve never attended an opera and I wonder if we have some opera aficionados on this site.
