A glimpse at the Purity PSE300B Ultra mono blocs
« on: February 11, 2013, 06:57:17 AM »
As we prepare for Axpona next month, the new Parallel Single Ended mono blocs are burning in.
The tubes shown (during burn in) are only the Valve Art 300B units for the moment. These amps will be equipped with a host of Sophia Electric tubes throughout.

More info: http://www.purityaudiodesign.com/PSE300B.htm

Shown here burning in driving a pair of Daedalus Audio Ulysses speakers. Preamp at the moment is the Purity Reference Series 2 (top shelf). Preamp at the show is the Silver Statement Series 2.

Looking good there Bill. Some serious sized trannies there. How many Watts ?  Good luck with it.

Looks like 18 WPC on the linked page for the amps.

Awfully pretty!

Sorry for the dealy.
Yes, they are 18 watts of parallel 300B bliss. The trannies are very unique and the first of it's kind in the industry. More info on them can be found on the web page.

They were a big hit at Axpona considering this pair was finished the same day they were packed up and leaving for Chicago :duh Shown below being feed by the Purity Silver Statement Series 2 linestage and driving new Daedalus Audio Argos speakers.

I had the chance to hear this system in Chicago and it was my favorite room.
Whatever Bill is doing, he is doing it right. :thumb:
Matched with those Daedalus speakers was utterly captivating.
 Best of show ,IMHO

Looks great!

I've been considering building an amp w paralled EL34s, is there a sonic penalty to be paid for paralleling output tubes?

Also, have you tried out those Clarity TC series power supply caps yet?

In my opinion, it is the best way to remain closest to the single ended sound while developing more single ended power.
