Corrections / clarification regarding this review:

The amp under review is two channels (as you can see from the photos)
The Cherry ULTRA has an 1800W transformer (not 1500W)
Output power is shown as 400Wpc, but it is nearly 800Wpc
For specifications, see our website (under construction but the specs are accurate)
The price is stated incorrectly.  For pricing, please see this thread:

A part of that review seems really misleading to me, where it says that the Cherry Ultra is best for high efficiency speakers > 89 db. Balderdash. Poppycock. How can 800 wpc into 4 ohms not be stump-pulling power? Believe me I've heard a Cherry Plus pick a pr of B&W 802Ds up by their nutz and toss 'em around a room effortlessly. Not an easy trick.

I think Tommy meant that it has been used successfully on high-eff speakers, not that it can't do tough loads too.

Yeah, I agree... high efficiency speakers are often more revealing, and betray lesser amps' flaws. I loved hearing the Cherry stereo amp on my 95dB speakers. Great synergy.

Actually, the high-efficiency thing is a mis-quote.  I said "low efficiency".  The ability to do both is what makes the Cherry special.  Many speakers have impedance all over the map, and this kills the "average amp"......
