Title: New Products from Purity Audio Design
Post by: Response Audio on January 22, 2011, 07:53:42 PM
we will use this thread to keep everyone updated in the new product releases starting with the following news.

1) Integrated Hybrid Amplifiers - two models will be available. Both models based on the Purity Basis tube circuit. Both models will have home theater bypass as well as variable line outputs to control another power amplifier or powered subwoofer. Remote control will be standard.

   a) First model will utilize Class D output stage providing 125 watts into 8 ohms and 250 into 4.
   b) Second model will also use a Class D output stage but at 250 watts into 8 ohms and 500 into 4 ohms. More sophisticated, choke filtered power supply using all polypropylene filter capacitors.

2) Stereo power amplifier. This is a high power stereo amplifier based on Class D technology and advanced power supply design. 250/500 watts. Built into the same chassis as used for the power supply in the Silver Statement linestage. We did this so you could place a Purity One or Reference preamp on top for the same look as the Silver Statement.

3) Hybrid mono bloc amplifiers - We have been working on these for some time. Producing approximately 500 watts into 8 ohms and 700 into 4, these amps will drive most any speaker on the market. When working with the OEM on the amplifier stage, one of our requirements was to have amplifiers that were stable into 1-2 ohm loads

This design uses a new zero gain input tube stage providing a very good input impedance and low output impedance for the perfect transition to the amplifier stage. Utilizes a single 6922. There are a few very unique features that will be found within these amps but we do not want to disclose this information at this time.

There are two more big announcements to be made but I will hold off on these for just a little bit longer. Sorry

Bill,

You say that the Integrated and the Stereo amps are based on Class D technology. Am I correct in assuming that the mono blocs will be as well?

That's not the middle of winter. January is when you don't want to be here. It has been below zero this past weekend. It's starting to warm up in March.

That will depend on orders as they take first priority. Right now I am busy building Statement Ultra GT linestages.

The mono blocs are a hybrid design. We are using a zero gain tube stage feeding a new Class D design that we have been playing with for some time now. You will also have the option (by the flick of a switch) of driving the amplifier stage on it's own without the tube stage in the circuit. Production units have balanced inputs as well as balanced innerstage coupling.

Good evening everyone. I wanted to provide an update on where things are going with the linestage products.

The Purity One linestage is being discontinued  :(. Filling the void will be the 6SN7 based Basis Pre which has gone through some enhancements. There will be only one Basis linestage model available. The Purity One that was used at RMAF and now available for sale is the ONLY "One" that is available in the Purity Acrylic Chassis. If anyone wants it, now is your time to act.

The Purity Basis, which will now reside in the Purit One style chassis, will now incorporate new, upgraded output coupling capacitors and polypropylene power supply filter caps. Remote volume, HT Bypass and LED source indicators will still remainas a standard except that it will not have 6 line level input rather than the 4 originally found on the split chassis version.
