Spring Cleaning

Yes Sir time to clean those contacts. De-Oxit baby. While your there rearrange those wires so not one touches or crosses another. You will be happy you did.
After your cleaning leave it be do not move a cable and let settle again. Ears too

Good advice Charlie

I was having wind noise and crackling sound from my tube preamp. It was soft but annoying. I jiggled all 8 tubes in their sockets and that cured the noise, so it was caused by corrosion building on the tube pins. Chemical cleaning would last longer than jiggling.

I did not want to go out and start shoveling before the snow fall stopped this morning so I had a little time to kill and I figured my TT was due for a little TLC.

Removed cleaned and inspected the platter bearing. Emptied, cleaned and refilled the well with fresh oil, reconditioned the belt and cleaned all the RCA cable connections.

Everything is back together, spinning freely and running like a champ.

All ready to go for another year.  8)

Hey I've got my kit.  8)

Most audiophiles won't think twice about spending $30 or more for a 1/2 oz of solution to clean their cable connectors, how about $5 to clean out your ears?

When's the last time you could do anything for $5 to make your system sound better? What are you waiting for?

Available at CVS and Walgreens

Nick you have no idea how hardcore this subject of ear cleaning in another thread was quite something. Tom clean ii as clean does. Go for it.
