Post editing = 1 minute
« on: January 12, 2017, 11:30:17 AM »
To preserve the value of all replies in a thread, the post-editing time is reduced from 480 minutes (8 hours) to 1 minute.

Please edit and proofread posts before before submission.

Feel free to post follow-ups and corrections in new posts.

Thank you

Is that a New York minute or just a standard NC minute?

Dude - I can't reach down and backwards to scratch my brain in a minute, what are you doing to us?

At least make it 15 minutes.

IMHO...

Pros of a much shorter time:
Far too easy to "bait" someone into a flippant response and then edit out the "inflamatory" content used to bait them

Cons of a much shorter time:
In "testy" threads, after someone has cooled off, they may "mae culpa" and edit what they typed (see above).

my 2 cents... people are gonna say the darnedest things and there ain't nothing you can do about it.   Personally, I like forums where I can clean up stupid typos.  But I can also see the slippery slope.

Kuddos to you, Rich, for stepping up.  Now if only we could use this in the political world... (oops, damn, if only I could edit that out ;-)

That's a good compromise Rich. Us audio nuts often want to express our pearls of wisdom quickly, and grammar, spelling, and other examples often don't come out correctly or immediately the first time.
