RIP George Michael
« on: December 25, 2016, 04:35:27 PM »

One of the greatest pop singers of all time. 2 Grammys, 7 #1 hits in UK.

I remember hearing when Wham was new that Sinatra thought very highly of George's voice and style, thought "he could be one of the greats." I can't find any reference to that story, because it was washed from the internet by this open letter Sinatra wrote to Michael in 1990 when Michael was whining about how hard it is to be successful.

The world is filled with sad, sad stories of how great talents simply cannot live with the fame, performance anxiety that accompanies the exposure of their great talent to the public, and the physical logistics of being a big star. Performing every night , expected to always be better than before. Turning to drugs to keep up with the expectations from within and without. The greater the talent the more keenly they seem to feel it.

Apparently he was working on a new album with composer and producer 'Naughty Boy.' And there is a documentary about him was supposed to air in March.
