I recently spent time demoing a MS-2 PC Music Server which is a dedicated, low noise Windows 8 based music server. I compared it to my Toshiba 875 laptop. Both machines were Windows 8 64bit running Foobar with 8G of RAM and all foobar configuration settings were duplicated between platforms.
