Rosanne Cash and Mark O'Connor at Duke last night

My wife and I went to see Rosanne Cash and Mark O'Connor at Page Auditorium at Duke last night.  Just an awesome concert!   Mark O'Connor and his Trio (included pianist and cellist) took the first set and it was totally acoustic and even tho we were up in the balcony, the acoustics were amazing.

Rosanne Cash and her Trio which includes her husband John Leventhal was amplified but equally awesome.   Leventhal is a very accomplished guitarist and there was definitely sparks between Rosanne's voice and his playing.

During the final songs, Rosanne and her Trio & Mark O'Connor and his Trio were all on stage and what a great combination that proved to be!

But... the absolute pinnacle of the performance was when Rosanne started to play Sea of Heartbreak and Bruce Springsteen did a walk-on to join her.  Whoa - the place went wild!   Turns out he was visiting Duke as a potential school for his daughter Jessica.   This is a song that they recorded as a duet on Rosanne's latest album, The List.

Wow.... that's awesome!!  I'm so sorry I missed it... missed a couple shows recently that I wanted to attend... real life got in the way and I forgot about them until it was too late...  sounds like a great show, Mike.
