Pocket CLIO measurements system with calibrated mic is running the Parasound Halo A23 amp for OB Planar measurements is alive and well.

Now to find a spot in the room for low reflections for farfield measurements.

Figured out how to make the measurements and be portable.

Time to break out the Parasound Zamp V.3 with Pocket CLIO and calibrated mic!  Very portable stereo amp with the capabilities needed.

Been windy today, so will try tomorrow morning after temp goes up.

Second test baffle with the original GR Neo3-PDR and BG Neo10 installed and wired for testing.

Pocket CLIO and Parasound Zamp V.3 with the calibrated mic should work well.  Just need the wind and weather to be better tomorrow.

The measurement setup with the open baffle Neo3 and Neo10 is running and now to see if weather is good for outdoor measurements.

Weather was good today so setup the measurement system outside with the ob planar baffle on the deck.  Still have some bugs to work out, so will try again tomorrow.

Discovered something I had forgotten.

The tweeters in these baffles are BG Neo3-PDR's not the GR versions.  The pair of GR versions went to a person wanting to build another GR speaker system that needed those.

Weather looks good so will try another round of measurements today.  Found out the connection terminals on the Neo3-PDR were to close to the rivets and shorting out.  Dropped the tweeter level way down, so now insulation is on the rivets to stop that from happening.

Just got the msg that the second Parasound Halo A23 amp arrives today to power the Monolith planar system.  :)

The balanced input ChipAmps are getting setup for the Neo3 and Neo10 planars for trials.  Connectors for the HX300 servo amp on the way.

Have a suggestion for an improvement after the first set of measurements.  Will be trying that soon.

Now to get ready for CAF2017!  Not showing, so get to listen and hang out with friends! :)

The new idea is prepped and ready to try next time the weather is good for measurements.

Pictures of the modular 2x12 open baffle H-Frames cabinets dry fitted before packing and shipment to me for glue-up and speaker install.

Connectors and wire are here, so will be doing this after CAF2017 this week.

Hope to see folks at the show in Rockville, MD 3-5 Nov at the Hilton.

Modified the first GR Neo3 planar tweeter today for the Monolith speakers.

Next will be measurements once the rain is passed and dried up for an outside setup.

The weather was good today, so did measurement tests with the moded GR Neo3 and new production BG Neo10 on my test baffle.

These were far field gated time measurements on tweeter center axis using Pocket CLIO and calibrated mic.

Now to build a digital crossover and see what happens.

The two modular 2x12 open baffle H-Frame flat packs arrive Friday.  Will start glue-up this weekend.

Will be talking to the paint finishing group on Friday as well and see a test finish on a modular cabinet.

The new planar test baffles are looking good and now to wait for the flat packs to be done.
