Bachman-Turner Overdrive: BTO's Greatest

  Mercury CD (Japanese Import)

I had this CD in a domestic US pressing, but I saw this yesterday for only $4 and thought I would roll the dice.

Definitely a good move as the Japanese pressing provides a noticeable improvement in SQ.  Not an eye opening huge improvement, but without a doubt four dollar's worth.

Harry James lived in the South Shore of MA when I was growing up in MA. He brought his trumpet for repair to the music store in Quincy, MA where I took my private lessons. One time, my teacher, Leon Merian brought James' trumpet down from the shop upstairs to show me. It was gold plated with jewels embedded into the bell. He wouldn't let me hold it or play it, as I was only 12.

My favorite string quartet album. This is what got me into hifi in 2005, close to as good as it gets, imo...   :-P

Found it in the on line library catalog. Should be in by the end of the week.  :thumb:

Whistle Stop

While pulling all my Bill Evans out of boxes in the basement, I took my house off the market, I grabbed this.

Since I didn't really recognize it, I just put it on after 2 Bill Evans Trio LPs, and the mood changed quickly, this album swings!

Per my notes, Rich sent it to me, THANKS RICH!

I haven't heard it yet either. I started to listen to Undercurrent but my wife wanted to watch Hallmark, so I had to kill it.    sigh...

I fell in love with Kenny Drew from listening to Kenny Dorham's Whistle Stop. That's a REALLY great one, do you have that? If not, let me get it for you!
