I looked into Tidal and I was very impressed with the sound, but the selection of classical was very limited.

Then I thought, why not check out the library. m We used to go twice a week to get books for our children and I heard that they had a streaming service. I have no idea about the bitrate since I have to get a card before I try it.  They also let you borrow CDs.  The Toronto Public Library has thousands of classical CDs and their streaming collection is quite good as well.

I should have thought about this earlier!  If Tidal expands their classical selection I would sign on.

Paul

Paul,
Great idea regarding the library. I had a trial subscription to Qobuz for a while ....thanks Deepak....and enjoyed it quite a bit. I can’t say how good a selection of classical they have, though. I believe their official US launch will be in a few months and I can’t wait until Qobuz is integrated into Roon.

The Classical selection at Qobuz is much better than at Tidal.

Here is the latest news I have seen on the US launch:

Want to thank the contributors to this thread, it is wonderful.

One thing though, while listening to the album "Custer La Rue's  The True Lover's Farewell: Appalachian Folk Ballads recording on Dorian" I keep hearing "chips and gravy" instead of "Gypsen Davey".  Beautiful album.

The original LP "The best of the Kingston Trio Volume 2" sonics are superb. However, I forget which source, whether later LP or digital, was very poor.

I also liked the original LP "The Best of Peter, Paul, and Mary" as well.

cheers
