Mozart: Symphony in G Minor - Von Karajan/Vienna Philharmonic
RCA Victor Soria Series LP
AS with the rest of the Soria Series LPs I have heard, this one has a very sooth sound with a huge soundstage. This one has more of a middle to rear of the hall perspective as opposed to the few few rows perspective of the Living Stereo records. This is not necessarily better or worse, just different. I would think that whether or not you like that perspective will be influenced on where you usually, which will determine what you are used to hearing at a live concert.
Unfortunately, this particular LP has got a huge amount of surface noise, reminiscent of a 1940s 78. Hopefully a trip past the steamer will tame most of that noise, because as good as the recording is, it is really tough to listen to with all that noise.
