Last Sunday I was given the "privilege" of helping my wife chaperone a field trip of 12 of her dance students to a performance by the Russian National Ballet Company of Adolphe Adam's "Giselle". Last year we went to see the same company do Swan Lake and I was looking forward to hearing some live orchestral music from some prime orchestra seats. When we got there not only was it recorded, not live music (I probably should have guessed that since the tickets were only $35), but it was a dreadful recording. It sounded like it was being played through a boom box with a mic stuck in front of it.

So I was not really looking forward to going this year, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. But surprisingly enough, this years sound was actually quite good. It looked like all the same sound system equipment (of course I noticed ) so the difference had to be that they just used a much better sounding recording this year.

I earned big hero points with the Mrs for helping out and got to listen to some nice music in the process. in spite of my fears, it turned out to be a decent afternoon.

Eva Cassidy: Acoustic

  Tidal Streaming

In spite of Tidal saying that this was released on Blix Street Records last December, I cannot find any mention anywhere about physical media copies of this album. From what I can see the only places it can be found are on Tidal, iTunes, Spotify and Amazon Streaming. It is not even mentioned on the Blix Street web site.

I sure hope this is not a glimpse of the future........

On the plus side my wife and I did enjoy the album regardless of the source.[/img]  Tidal Streaming

Rick Wakeman: Piano Portraits

   Tidal Streaming

I was shocked to read that this is Rick Wakeman's 100th solo album

That is some body of work and the count does not even include recordings he did with Yes  or in collaboration with another band or artist.

When does this man sleep?

It may not be the last word on state of the art sound, but there's lots of fun stuff out there on Tidal.

And the SQ is certainly good enough to make for some enjoyable listening sessions.

Have fun!  :thumb:

BTW, how did you end up solving your WiFi issue?

I found this series on Tidal this morning. There are six volumes in all, each highlighting a different artist.
Very nice stuff from both a musical and a SQ basis.

Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here Symphonic: The London Orion Orchestra

   Tidal Masters

Ok, the Art Pepper series was nice, but my wife went out to do some shopping for Easter dinner. I have to get in my Floyd fixes while I can.   |:D|

Art Pepper will return when she does.  ;)

This album contains a nice vocal rendition of Wish You Were Here by Alice Cooper

Link to an interview with Alice Cooper about Pink Floyd in general and this album in particular. An interesting 3 minutes.

You using the Node2?
Who do save albums to "favorites"?
I can only save individual songs

I have the original Node, but it is the same software that controls both. What kind of device are you using to control the Node? The PC ,Android and ios software is all a little different.
