Question about Corner Traps
« on: August 17, 2007, 11:24:04 AM »
I'll probably post this on AC also to get Ethan's response, but I thought I'd try here first.

How effective are corner traps if the face is blocked from direct radiation?

I've got 2 corners in my room in which furniture is placed diagonally (one corner has an antique secretary, the other a record rack - and they are opposite corners to boot!)  I'm thinking about placing corner traps behind the furniture based on the theory that the sound is travelling along the planes of the walls.  Will I lose a substantial part of the effectiveness, specifically the bass absorption?

Will you lose some - yeah.  Is it still worth doing - absolutely.  Also, if you can, try to build them so the tops are open to catch as much as you can.
