Title: Meridian Dac setup and Hi Rez tracks
Post by: malloy on July 12, 2017, 11:30:42 PM
Does anybody have a Director DAC or Explorer? Been trying unsuccessfully to listen to a few hi resolution (24/96) tracks through USB. I tried it on a linux machine (Mint) - I can hear the music but only the 1x (44k) light illuminates.

I think linux can output 24/96 through USB only if you configure it correctly. otherwise it's limited to 16/44

I switched to a Windows machine (WIndows 7) - more problems. Finally got it to work on a Windows 10 machine. The 96 and 192 lights illuminate but I get no sound!  Would appreciate any input.

Thanks!

Have the Meridian Explorer2 USB DAC and no problem with Windows 7 or Windows 10.  Loaded the USB driver and did the firmware update to the latest version.

Run it with Foobar2000 with the ASIO driver and get all rates to 192KHz.

Hi HAL,

Firmware is one thing I haven't checked. Will see if there's anything new. I'm trying to change the output in Foobar but that part seemed grayed out. I'll check again.

Have you loaded the ASIO component and WASAPI components in Foobar2000?  You will need those components to work with the Explorer2 DAC as well.
