DCM Time Windows
« on: September 03, 2014, 08:06:06 PM »
I tempted to venture down and buy these. Guy in town has a pair for sale. $200 maybe. Were these any good? I am interested in the cabinets too may be refit new drivers.

I remember hearing these back in the day. They did something that nobody was doing back then ... they threw an image.

But these are quite old now. I would double check to see if the drivers need new surrounds, and strongly consider replacing the caps in the crossover if you buy them.

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you'll have to blow your nose.

They did throw an image. Since it has been a long time ago, I'm not sure how accurate it was, but it sounded nice. Also the drivers sucked. As a DIY person I would buy them for the cabinets and put in new drivers and crossovers  :thumb:

I owned Timeframe 600's at one point. Powered by a Japanese-made HK integrated. Nice little system. Kind of boring for my tastes, though.
If they're in really good condition 200 is fair.
Good luck!
I really enjoy listening to music.

That is just the kind of electronics I remember them being sold with. From what I can recall of them they were a at the upper end of the consumer mass market mid-fi spectrum, but not much more than that. Not what I would really consider a true high-end product. But if that is good enough for whatever application you were thinking about for them, then by all means go for it.
