Thanks tmazz
I already bought a titanium spacer I'm using a SME M2-9 tonearm. I've seen pics of the armboard your
talking about and had toyed with the idea of making one. A friend already suggested to try the sorbothane isolators so that's cheap enough . I'll order those soon. I'll also take your advise and be on the lookout for an SDS or PLC

Thanks for your prompt reply.........Bill

Hey everyone,

Sorry for bringing this thread back to life but this kickstarter campaign got me looking through the forum archives.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/139447563/technics-1200-series-outer-record-periphery-clamp/description

In the time since this thread was last updated has anyone tried turntable periphery rings on their turntables? If so what were your results? For me I've used record spindle weights or clamps and haven't heard any sonic difference good or bad in my systems. I do have some warped records so these outer rings might be helpful.

Thanks everyone.

Damn, I just gave away all my LPs, and now I see this: http://lifehacker.com/five-best-record-players-1721432938.  It's almost worth the trouble of LPs again to get a  "TOP" (note, TOP) model for only a few pennies.   :duh

I'm sorrry Shek, I think this got posted to the wrong place. I looked at what they listed as candidates for the best "record players". I think that link would better fit in the Joke of the Day thread.

Actually methinks this article was originally titled "Five Best Record Players So Young People Won't Buy That Crosley Crap." but the editor got wind of it and shortened the title.

You should see how much of those Crosley stuff is marketed to young people. Even Popmarket at one time was selling packaged vinyl starter kits to young people that featured record and Crosely stuff. All I could do is ](*,)  :wtf:

Also I can't recollect if I did this before but I just wanted to say Thanks to Tom and others who chimed in on these periphery ring threads I updated. As always you helped me with sharing your knowledge. I sent multiple inquiries to TT Weights about this ring and never got responses. It may have been a blessing because it routed me to speak to Kevin at KAB Acoustics about this ring.
